Although Ssangyong — the fourth largest Korean automaker — has over 60 years of history and is present in over 115 countries, its quite short stint here in the past makes it a relatively unknown brand coming in to the Philippine market, this time under Berjaya Philippines. Compared to popular car brands (Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Ford, Chevrolet, Kia, Hyundai, etc.) Ssangyong is quite unfamiliar. Investing hard-earned money on it, therefore, initially seems like a strange choice. But the facts speak for the brand: it is one of the largest Korean automakers, it is global, it has history and heritage. Here is where the challenge lies. We’re not a mainstream brand, we’re a challenger brand. But we have arguably better styling, and our technology is at par with most of the popular brands. We are very competitively-priced, too. And so we want the car buyer to take a second look at us and include us in their options. We want them to consider us when choosing a car to buy.
Why drive what everybody else is driving?
Why be like everyone else?
Why fit in when you were born to stand out?
Drive a Ssangyong.
